| Delegates
will have accommodation in student halls or in hotels in Nicosia, close to
the University, at moderate prices with a choice between single and shared
double rooms. Alternatively, they can stay in Larnaca, on the coast. There
will be a bus service every morning and every evening from selected hotels
in Larnaca to the Conference Venue.
The
University of Cyprus is situated next to a large 5-star hotel that
could potentially house a large percentage of the Conference participants.
There are also other hotels and smaller bed-and-breakfast
institutions within walking distance from the University. Up to 250
delegates could be housed in brand new student rooms that are also fully
airconditioned.
Please note:
- The only Hotel that is within
direct walking distance of the conference
venue is the Hilton.
- There will be a bus running from every hotel (expect
from hotels in Larnaca) and from the
Student Halls to the conference site every morning and afternoon.
- All rooms at the Conference venue and all
Hotel rooms are airconditioned.
- The taxi from Larnaca to the Hotel will
cost you 15 Cyprus Pounds. You can
get a taxi right as you come out of the airport gate.
- Transportation before the start and at
the end of sessions will be provided free of charge.
- Double occupancy is not available in student halls. Also there are no ensuite bathrooms.
- Transportation will also be provided from the Golden Bay in Larnaca on the
same basis. It will be possible to follow the partner program from any hotel
at no extra cost.
- During the war in Kuwait, Cyprus was and felt very safe. We anticipate the
same in the unfortunate event that there is a war in Iraq.
- In July, temperatures are around 35 Celsius during daytime. Bring (only)
shorts and swimwear. Nicosia is a bit warmer during the daytime and cooler
and less humid than Larnaca in the evenings. All our buildings are
air-conditioned.
