PASSPORTS
AND VISAS
Dear Conference
Participants,
Please
note that participants from the USA, from Australia, from Canada and from
Western Europe do not need a passport visa to travel to Cyprus and can
ignore this message. If you are planning on coming to Cyprus from a
country outside this region, please read on.
Participants
from Syria, Jordan, the Arab Gulf (Aman, Quatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq
etc) and countries of the former Soviet Union can obtain a visa
upon arrival at Larnaca Airport after presenting a letter of invitation
(to be issued by the conference organizing committee), a valid passport, a
return ticket to and from Cyprus and information on local accommodation.
If you come from one of these countries and you have completed the
registration process, you will receive a letter of invitation from us
through the mail, before June 1st. We will be sending this to
the address you included on your registration form. We would be very
grateful if you could send us an email confirming this address. If you
satisfy these conditions you do not need to do anything else at this
stage.

If
a visa is required for your country, then please visit the following URL
http://www.mfa.gov.cy/mfa/mfa.nsf/EmbassiesList
in
order to find the Republic of Cyprus’
Embassy that is nearest to your country. You will then need to apply
for a visa at this embassy. If you fall in this category, please (a) make
sure that you have sent us your registration form, (b) send us an email
with a valid postal address where you would like us to mail the invitation
to the conference to you.
Participants
from Turkey, Iraq, FYR
Macedonia, Taiwan and the Palestinian National Authority
cannot obtain a visa from a Republic of Cyprus’ Embassy. They
are kindly requested to send us copies of their passports or
travel documents and their registration forms specifying the dates of
arrival and departure. When we receive these, we will arrange with the
Ministry of External Affairs in Nicosia to have a visa issued to you and
we will inform you accordingly. There is a six week turnaround time for
this process and so we would appreciate it if you could send us your
documents as soon as possible. Please note that we are only allowed to do
this for participants from these countries only.
