Cyprus is a beautiful island, the third largest in the Mediterranean sea with a population of around 700000 with guaranteed sunshine for 330 days every year. The island serves the whole of the Middle East as a service and conference center.
Nicosia is a rather small city of 200000 people with hot summer days but cool evenings, low humidity, excellent services, infrastructure and organization. The city offers delicious food, is 40 minutes away from some of the best beaches in the world and only about an hour away from some of the oldest surviving wall and floor mosaics in the world.
The University of Cyprus is a very young institution housed in a picturesque colonial campus that has been renovated continuously over the last eight years. Despite its brief history (the University admitted its first undergraduate students in September 1992), the University consists of 14 departments offering degrees at the Bachelors, Masters and PhD levels in the Humanities, the Natural Sciences and Economics and Business Administration.
The University buildings are fully air-conditioned and the campus borders on a forest park that is always open for walks and jogging.
