I received a Masters degree in Mathematics from UCLA in 1980 and a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 1989. I have a B.Sc. degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1977. I worked as an actuary for Farmers Insurance group in Los Angeles between my Masters and Ph.D. I was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics at University of Arizona for two years. I then joined the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Cyprus in 1992.
