Profile:

Undergraduate studies at Imperial College, University of London (B. Sc. in Mathematics 1988). Postgraduate studies at Stanford University (M. Sc., 1990) and Imperial College, University of London (Ph.D., 1993). I have worked at the University of Cyprus (Lecturer: 1993-1996, Assistant Professor: 1996-2006, Associate Professor from 2006).

Research Interests:

Group Representation Theory, Algebraic Combinatorics.

My main research interest is the representation theory of finite Coxeter groups and associated Hecke algebras, which can be thought of as $q$-analogues of the group algebra. I am investigating the representations of these groups by studying the Kazhdan-Lusztig cells and the combinatorics associated with this cell structure, especially in the case of the symmetric group.

Among my recent research interests is the study of Weil representations of symplectic and unitary groups.
